Every animal has a call. A sound or noise they make to communicate. It can be in case of danger, boredom, a bone stuck in their throat or it might just be mating season... in which case there may be many noises. We don't always hear it- but animals find ways to express what they're feeling.
Rhino makes all sorts of sounds. Whether he is excited, movie quoting or trying to change the subject.. he is a master of sounds. At age three he couldn't talk but he could impersonate many favorite animals. He could even do a zebra. I can't even begin where to place my tongue to do a zebra call.
Tiger- his sounds usually resemble the call of wild Indians racing down the hill of an old western as they sound their attack. When he sounds a call or approaches us quickly for that matter, we usually raise our shoulder to protect our faces, squint our eyes and use our bodies the best we can to block whatever might be coming our way.
Puppy. She uses little noises to let us know when she's hungry, sad or happy- kind of like, well, a puppy. Monkey? She's just crazy. With a growing vocabulary and an ability to make even the most unattractive words sounds cute, we find ourselves imitating her calls.
So. What call do you find yourself making the most? Does it change with your emotions. Are you more active during the day or night... snoring.
To all of you fellow parents out there- I want to hear your call!
If you're tired of going to bed with a messy house and waking up to it still being there- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of finding wet underwear only to find out it's not water after you put it up to your nose- let me hear your call!
If you get tired of cleaning the same messes, cooking the same breakfast and using the bathroom with someone talking to you in the doorway- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of making u-turns because you constantly threaten to turn that car around- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of trying to get everyone else to take naps but can never get one yourself regardless of how many tantrums you throw- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of talking to yourself because everyone got ear plugs but you- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of washing the same load of laundry (even if it is your fault for not putting it in the dryer) and having the never ending sink of dishes because the little kitchen elves never show up- let me hear your call!
If you're tired of being mistaken for a napkin or tissue- let me hear your call!
And if you're just tired of being tired- by all means- let me hear your call!
OK.
Now that we all have that out of systems- it's time to get back to work... there's dishes, laundry, rooms to clean and who knows what the kids have been doing while we're sitting here making funny animal noises!

i am mother - hear me roarrrrr!
just rewashed the batch that had been sitting in the washer for 2 days.. oops. finally had to finish it since we had a wetbed last night. and we definitely don't want pee-pee sheets sitting around for long.
oh the joys...
I must say baking soda is my best friend. I always forget about clothes in the wash and that smell is terriable. So I dump in a half a box of baking soda let it sit for a few and then rewash. And hope I dont have to do it again. hehe
